RuggedCom Receives Leadership Award and is Named to the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Ranking of the Fastest Growing Technology Companies in Canada

RuggedCom Inc., Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada, September 26, 2008 –

RuggedCom Inc. (“RuggedCom”) (TSX:RCM), a leading provider of rugged communications networking solutions designed for mission-critical applications in harsh environments, has been awarded the 2008 Telecom Leadership Award from the Deloitte Fast 50 Leadership Awards for elite members of the Canadian technology industry. Additionally, RuggedCom has been named for the third year in a row to the prestigious Deloitte Technology Fast 50, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Canada, based on the percentage of revenue growth over five years. RuggedCom’s increase in revenue of 1,599% from 2003 to 2007 resulted in a 14th ranking overall.

“Transforming technological innovation into business success is hard, and it’s especially difficult to sustain such rapid revenue growth over five years. RuggedCom has rapidly built a highly successful company in the Canadian technology industry and we applaud its dedication and ability to transform vision into reality,” said John Ruffolo, National Leader, Technology, Media & Telecommunications Industry Group, Deloitte.

“Making the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for the third year in a row is quite an accomplishment for RuggedCom or any company. Even more exciting was winning this year’s Leadership Award for Telecom. We attribute these great results to many factors, but most of all to having exceptional people who deliver great execution,” explains RuggedCom’s President and CEO Marzio Pozzuoli.

Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Leadership Award candidates are judged on their ability to create a distinct competitive advantage in a high growth market. Awards are presented to Deloitte Technology Fast 50-ranked companies that demonstrate technological leadership in four industry subcategories: emerging technologies, hardware/semiconductor, software, and telecommunications. To qualify for the Leadership Award, candidates must be headquartered in Canada and devote a significant portion of their operating revenues to creating proprietary technology or intellectual property.

In order to qualify for the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranking, companies must have been in business for at least five years, have revenues of at least $5 million, be headquartered in Canada, own proprietary technology, and conduct research and development activities in Canada. A panel of industry experts evaluates and judges companies based on four key criteria: competitive advantage; size, growth, and market attractiveness; management effectiveness and organization; and financial performance.
