ASN Gateway
The network interface unit of WiN7000/WiN7200 Base Station provides full interface to the Centralized ASN-GW for ASN Profile-C with the following features and benefits:
- Transfer of AAA (authentication/authorization/accounting ) messages to MS/SS Home Network Service Provider (H-NSP) for the MS/SS
- Discovery and selection of the MS/SS preferred NSP
- IP address allocation
- Radio Resource Management
- Mobility support
- Paging
- ASN-CSN tunneling
- WiMAX Forum NWG RG compliant
DHCP Server
The Point of Presence is the core of the WiMAX networks and interfaces between the wireless network and legacy networks.
The DHCP Server is responsible for allocating IP address to MS. The DHCP Server may support Multiple Hosts behind an SS (for fixed/nomadic type of service) and also allow the operator to govern the IP address assigned to the SS/MS its connected hosts. Any standard-based DHCP server, such as Linux DHCP Server, or other commercial 3rd party DHCP Server may be used.
AAA Server
AAA Server provides IP based Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting functions. For example, AAA Server provides for secure exchange and distribution of authentication credentials and session keys for data encryption. WiMAX Forum specified RADIUS as the AAA Protocol to be used for its first standard release. Future standard releases will embrace DIAMETER as well.
